Not only will they start renting (the now bankrupt) Fietsfabriek Cargobikes, vis-a-via Rolling Orange, at Bike and Roll, BUT…
And who knows? Soon, we could be hosting the New York City’s first bakfiets race.
Shit! Now I need to save my pennies and buy the last one from Adeline Adeline. BUT the real question is, will it be a mother’s race or a no-holds-bars-copenhagenize run?
With summer in full swing, who wants to ride a bike like Lance Armstong? This is why we’re swinging by Adeline Adeline to show you some stylish rides, an opportunity to meet other #bikeNYC’rs and catch up on some refreshing refreshments.
Please join us at 6:30 at Adeline Adeline, 147 Reade St (btw Greenwich & Hudson), TriBeCa.
After 7:30 or so, and possibility weather dependent, we’ll head up the west side greenway to a little port of call with drinks, food and sunset on 70th street, pier i cafe.
*btw, a few people will be meeting up at Kiva Cafe, just a few doors down from Adeline Adeline, around 5:30 or so for tea and crumpets.
**what’s a tweetup? it’s a physical gathering of NYC cyclists who also use social media. you can see our on going conversation at #BikeNYC.
glamor moms or not, ole gorge bliss builds beautiful nyc bakfiets! in this must watch video, the Sean Patrick Farrell profiles (aka @SpokesNYT) one mother and her two daughters as they ride around town doing everything they would normally do on a train, in a cab or behind the wheel of a gas guzzler…
i can’t wait to see more bakfiets in nyc. over the last year alone, there’s been a proliferation of shops selling dutch bikes and other urban/city bikes. while the racing and hipster crowd bemoan their existence, i am ecstatic!
if you’re looking for that carry all bike, there are four locations to get bakfiets.
this is such a cruel joke, but at the sametime, it’s SO funny to watch. (btw, mute unless you like horrible rock music.) – video discovered by @bikewobble. btw, if you come across a similar situation here in NYC, call 311 ASAP!
on my block, my bike, a batavus personal bike, is the closest thing to the heavy-ass, all you can carry, i’m going to blind you with my headlights, watchout he’s taking up the whole lane SUV. but in good old amsterdamn, the bakfiets, those awesome dutch bucket bikes, have moved up from hipster/squatter transport to the loathed SUVs of Amsterdam…
i don’t know if this new super-extended bakfiet is a joke, a kin to workcycle’s anti-theft spray, but it sure does put the S in Sweet Urban Velo! i hope to god workcycle builds this puppy!
are you looking for that perfect dutch with all the bells and whistles? some might call this bike ugly, but others will rave about it being the creme-de-la-creme of commuting haas. not only does it have splash guards, rear O lock, tire pump, heavy duty rack, shocks, dyno, enclosed chain guard, and quick-adjust ergonomic handles… it’s comes with a Nuvinci Hub! this hub is the ultimate in “gearing” exuberance! it’s two gears and an infinite selection between the two…
My old buddies from Vespa Soho have decided to open up a new bicycle shop that’s focusing on dutch/urban bikes, cargo bikes and zero emission motorcycles. In celebration of their opening, they are inviting the #BikeNYC community to eat, drink and see their wares. Additionally, they are thinking about renting cargo bikes.
Join us this Tuesday, 8 Dec, from 7 pm – 9, for drinks, pizza and beer!!
can you believe that they are going to start selling this bike at $550 in the USA? it’s a damn dirty shame that they are getting rid of the front internal drum breaks and dynos to shave off $400 from the price. USA’rs should wise up and realize that front dynos are one of god’s best damn inventions. every bike should have one.
