why cycling w/ the british sucks

I hope that choosing the bicycle as my preferred product needs little explanation or justification but my proposed ban on cycle helmets might be a little more problematic. For a long time I’ve harboured the suspicion in my more paranoid moments that there’s some kind of collusion between the road/oil lobby and elements of the cycling fraternity to ensure that cycling in Britain remains a marginalised, unpleasant and largely despised activity.
via save the planet – ban cycle helmets

wtf?
I’m a ‘colonist’ soon moving to NYC – I had subscribed to your blog and was looking forward to getting into the cycling community, maybe coming on some rides… I guess I shouldn’t bother if I will be ‘despised’ by the cool NY cycle folks!
kate, we’d love to hang out with you! ROLF means “Rolling On the Floor” and is a euphemism for when people find something so funny they end up rolling on the floor, and this whole bastardization of the helmet/fitness/oil/road lobby is all tongue and cheeky. when do you arrive?
Ha, well I guess I have a lot to learn about american humour, or should that be humor
Me, hubby and our tandem will arrive at the start of October!
